Creative Assembly Announces Alien: Isolation 2 for Switch 2

Creative Assembly announced Alien: Isolation 2 and listed Nintendo’s forthcoming Switch 2 as a confirmed platform. The studio did not provide a release date or a full platform list at the time of the announcement.

The developer described the title as a direct follow-up to the 2014 survival-horror game. The original emphasized stealth, limited resources and a single, adaptive threat, and the studio said the sequel follows the same design approach.

Details released so far are limited to the title and the Switch 2 platform. Creative Assembly indicated additional information about story, gameplay systems and release timing will be shared in the coming months. Sega remains the publisher for Creative Assembly’s projects.

The 2014 Alien: Isolation was noted for its AI-driven antagonist and its focus on psychological tension rather than action combat. That game placed players in a 1970s-inspired setting where hiding and careful planning were primary survival tactics.

The announcement confirms the sequel will appear on Switch 2 hardware. The studio has not confirmed whether the sequel will appear on other consoles or PC, nor whether a simultaneous release is planned.

Several technical and production details remain unconfirmed, including the game engine, which team members from the original returned to the project, and whether the sequel will include multiplayer or additional modes beyond single-player.

Creative Assembly is a United Kingdom–based developer and a subsidiary of Sega. The original Alien: Isolation received multiple downloadable expansions after its 2014 launch.
