Crimson Moon launches on PS5 for $19.99

ProbablyMonsters released Crimson Moon for PlayStation 5 at a $19.99 price point. The game is available now on PS5 and has also launched on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Players take the role of the Nephilim, human-angel hybrids tasked with reclaiming the besieged city of Gildenarch from demons, undead, vampires and other abominations. The campaign can be played solo or with one other player via optional online co-op.

Combat centers on timing and deliberate melee attacks. The launch trailer highlights weapon combos, finishers and celestial transformations that change the course of fights. Encounters include standard enemies and elite foes; incursions offer secret areas and rare loot. Enemy layouts and challenge elements vary between runs.

Progression relies on finding weapons, armor and gear across the city’s cathedrals, battlements and districts. The game includes systems for refining character builds, crafting gear and upgrading abilities between missions.

Early reviews have been mostly positive, with attention focused on the feel and depth of the combat and on build customization.

David Lesperance, general manager and game director at ProbablyMonsters, commented that he had been “dreaming of creating Crimson Moon since I was a teenager” and that the team aimed to create an inspired gothic setting “where every fight feels powerful and every run gives players new ways to improve.”

The PlayStation Store lists the base game at $19.99. A Deluxe Edition is available for $29.99 and includes the base game, an upcoming downloadable expansion and two cosmetic items: the Ceremonial Armor Set and a guitar-shaped Axe of the Gods weapon skin.
