Dark Scrolls Switch Release Delayed to Avoid Mina Clash

Devolver and Doinksoft moved Dark Scrolls on Nintendo Switch from May 28 to June 22 to avoid launching the same week as Mina The Hollower, which arrives on Switch May 29.

Devolver Digital and developer Doinksoft moved the Nintendo Switch release of Dark Scrolls from May 28 to June 22. The change was announced in an updated trailer and a press release.

The companies said the new date prevents a same-week launch with Mina The Hollower, which arrives on Switch on May 29. The revised timing places Dark Scrolls about a month after its original Switch date.

Dark Scrolls is described by its creators as a throwback dungeon-scroller with pixel-art action. Mina The Hollower is a retro-style indie from Yacht Club Games.

The press release read, “There’s room for two pixelated fantasy action games in the world.” The statement added that Dark Scrolls lets players control a character who is a rat with a saxophone and thanked players for their patience.

With Mina launching May 29 and Dark Scrolls arriving June 22, the releases will fall on consecutive weeks for Switch players.
