THQ Nordic confirmed pricing for the current-generation editions of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, stating PlayStation 4 owners must pay $9.99 to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version while Xbox One owners will receive the Xbox Series X|S upgrade at no cost. The PlayStation 5 edition is listed at $29.99.
The PlayStation 4 version remains available at $19.99. On Xbox, the publisher increased the Xbox One listing from $19.99 to $29.99 so existing Xbox One owners can access the Series X|S edition without an additional charge; new buyers on either platform pay $29.99 for the current-generation edition.
THQ Nordic described the PS5 edition’s technical improvements as native 4K rendering, a Photo Mode, DualSense controller support and a target of 60 frames per second. The company noted the game’s core content is unchanged from the Warmastered Edition, which is a remaster of the original PS3 release.
The press release reads: “Owners of the PlayStation 4 version of Darksiders Warmastered Edition can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for 9.99€ / 9.99$. Players who own the Xbox One version will receive the upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S version free of charge. With the launch on current‑gen consoles, the Xbox Series X|S version will be available for 29.99€ / 29.99$, while the Xbox One version price will increase from 19.99€ / $19.99$ to 29.99€ / 29.99$. The PlayStation 4 version will remain available for 19.99€ / 19.99$, while the PlayStation 5 version launches at 29.99€ / 29.99$.”
Pricing for new purchasers is the same across platforms at $29.99 for the current-generation edition. Existing owners face different upgrade options depending on console: Xbox One owners can move to Series X|S without an extra fee because of the Xbox One price increase, while PlayStation 4 owners must pay a $9.99 top-up to access the PS5 build.
