Darksiders Warmastered upgrade free on Xbox, $9.99 on PS5
THQ Nordic will release Darksiders Warmastered Edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; Xbox One owners get a free Series X|S upgrade, PS4 owners must pay $9.99 for the PS5 version.
THQ Nordic announced that Darksiders Warmastered Edition will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The publisher confirmed different upgrade rules for each platform: owners of the Xbox One edition will receive a free upgrade to the Series X|S versions, while PlayStation 4 owners must pay $9.99 to move to the PS5 edition.
The Warmastered Edition is a 2016 remaster of the original 2010 Darksiders. The package includes higher resolution support, updated textures and enhanced rendering and performance improvements intended for modern hardware.
New buyers can purchase the Warmastered Edition on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S for $29.99. THQ Nordic did not provide a specific release date for the next-gen versions in its announcement.
Darksiders follows War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who is accused of breaking a sacred law after being tricked into bringing about the end of the world. The franchise has continued with several sequels, most recently the 2019 prequel and spin-off Darksiders Genesis.
