Dave the Diver’s ‘In the Jungle’ DLC launches on Xbox

Mintrocket released the Dave the Diver – In the Jungle content pack today for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Cloud Gaming and PC. The expansion is available as an Xbox Play Anywhere title and adds more than 10 hours of story and gameplay. The studio listed the DLC at $9.99 and noted the base game is on sale for 50% off for a limited time.

The expansion moves the game from a marine setting to a freshwater lake ecosystem beneath a jungle. Players encounter new creatures, harvest unfamiliar ingredients and face environmental hazards connected to an ancient underwater civilization. The content pack opens new missions that extend exploration into surrounding temples and dense forest areas.

A new restaurant, the Bancho Grill, introduces restaurant-management mechanics and a menu built from jungle ingredients. Villagers in the nearby settlement of Utara can become customers, and players can build relationships that affect who visits the restaurant.

The DLC adds new characters, including Muna and Marone, and contains crossover cameos intended to reward exploration. Mintrocket partnered with production company The Asylum to produce a live-action short film tied to the expansion.

Mintrocket said developers conducted on-the-ground research in Southeast Asia to inform the expansion, including cooking classes and a two-week visit to Indonesia to study local ingredients and food culture. The studio wrote, “we consider it so much more than a typical DLC, and it’s a much different experience than the previously released DLCs that our fans are used to,” and described In the Jungle as the largest DLC produced for the game.

The In the Jungle content pack requires the base Dave the Diver title; players who have completed the game’s main story can access the expansion, and an option is available for players who prefer to start the jungle content immediately without finishing the main campaign.
