Dawnwalker ships with four difficulties and layered options

Rebel Wolves’ The Blood of Dawnwalker will include Story, Normal, Duelist and Nightmare difficulties plus layered combat options such as an omnidirectional block.

Rebel Wolves will release The Blood of Dawnwalker for PlayStation 5 on September 3. The studio plans four base difficulty modes-Story, Normal, Duelist and Nightmare-and will let players apply additional customization settings on top of a chosen base difficulty to adjust encounter challenge.

Founder Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed the four base modes and described extra options that will layer over the selected difficulty. One confirmed toggle enables an omnidirectional block as an alternative to the game’s direction-based parry mechanic.

Rebel Wolves says the omnidirectional block will consume more stamina to help keep combat balanced. The studio has stated that the stamina cost is intended to preserve trade-offs in combat while offering an alternative defensive option.

The developer has indicated a broader set of customizable modifiers will be available but has not published a full list. The studio referenced potential adjustments to incoming and outgoing damage, health pools and other combat-related variables but has not confirmed specific sliders or exact parameter ranges.

Observers have noted the possibility of options affecting the protagonist Coen’s blood meter, though Rebel Wolves has not confirmed changes to blood-related mechanics or provided exact settings for such systems.

Rebel Wolves described Dawnwalker as a role-playing game with a time-sensitive structure, meaningful choice and consequence, and challenging combat encounters. The studio says the layered difficulty scheme is intended to let players select how they experience those systems; additional details about every customization option are expected before launch.
