Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Adds Photo Mode, Oboro Lighting

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, an enhanced 2019 edition, launches on PlayStation 5 on June 25, 2026, with Photo Mode, Oboro lighting, 4K support and five DLC characters included.

Koei Tecmo will release Dead or Alive 6 Last Round on PlayStation 5 on June 25, 2026. The edition updates the 2019 fighting game with a new Photo Mode, an Oboro lighting system for more realistic stages, native 4K support and five characters that were previously sold as downloadable content.

Series producer Yosuke Hayashi described the team’s work as a refinement for current hardware. He called Oboro an improvement to “the precision in the way light is reflected or creates shadows, reflections, and natural lighting.” Additional stages will adopt the system over time, Hayashi added.

Photo Mode lets players place and pose characters anywhere in battle stages, change camera composition, set poses and facial expressions, and capture details such as sweat. On stages using Oboro, screenshots can appear more photorealistic. Hayashi noted the series prioritizes aesthetics and called “beauty” one of its important themes.

The standard edition includes five characters that were originally released as DLC, making them available at launch. The release supports 4K gameplay on compatible systems. Hayashi confirmed there are no PlayStation-specific features such as DualSense haptics or a PS5 Pro mode. The team intends to add more characters and other content after launch through DLC and updates.

Hayashi explained the decision to develop an entirely new fighter alongside the rest of the game to renew interest in the franchise and provide new content after a long gap.
