Ghost Ship Publishing announced Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will release on PlayStation 5 on October 7, 2026. The single-player auto-shooter launched on PC and Xbox in 2025 after a period in early access and had been an Xbox console exclusive.\n\nThe publisher released a new trailer that highlighted the game’s fast-paced top-down action and waves of enemies. The trailer included footage for an upcoming expansion called Knockout but did not list a PlayStation 5 release date for the DLC.\n\nSurvivor changes the franchise’s format from first-person co-op to a top-down auto-shooter. Player characters fire automatically; gameplay depends on positioning, movement and collecting power-ups. Each run sends players into procedurally generated mine levels to fight native creatures called Hoxxes and to collect resources.\n\nResources gathered during runs can be spent on upgrades to weapons and abilities during combat, creating an escalating power loop as rounds progress. Procedural generation varies level layouts and enemy placement each session.\n\nThe Knockout expansion adds new weapons, a Sandblasted Corridors biome, a new mission type and a playable Brawler class. The DLC trailer’s end card listed several platforms but did not include PlayStation 5, and Ghost Ship Publishing has not confirmed Knockout’s availability on PS5 or its release timing.\n\nThe original Deep Rock Galactic remains available on PlayStation 5 and continues to receive updates. Its next seasonal update, Season Seven, will introduce a revised perk system, new cosmetic items and additional events.
