Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition listed for Switch 2

A large Swiss retailer has begun taking pre-orders for Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2, listing Aug. 28 as the release date.

The retailer’s product page names the title specifically for Nintendo’s next console and shows Aug. 28 as the street date. The item is available to reserve on the store’s website, but Capcom has not issued an announcement confirming the date or detailing edition content.

The listing follows earlier ratings board filings that indicated a version of Devil May Cry 5 was in development for the Switch 2. Those ratings entries were the first public records pointing to a Switch 2 release; the retailer page is the first commercial listing to include a specific date.

Capcom or Nintendo may provide formal details in the coming weeks, possibly during a Nintendo Partner Direct presentation or at Summer Game Fest. Until either company confirms the listing, the retailer page remains unconfirmed.

Capcom has released Devil May Cry titles on Nintendo hardware before, and a Switch release for the original Devil May Cry included a launch trailer. The publisher has also featured the series in past Nintendo eShop sales.

Devil May Cry first arrived in 2001 and introduced series protagonist Dante. Devil May Cry 5 was previously released on other platforms. The “Devil Hunter Edition” name implies an expanded or special package, but the product page does not list included content or extras.
