Digimon Story Time Stranger demo launches on Switch, Switch 2
Bandai Namco released a Digimon Story Time Stranger demo for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 featuring the Opening Chapter and Central Town – Adventure Trial; demo saves transfer to the full game, due July 10, 2026.
Bandai Namco has released a demo of Digimon Story Time Stranger for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The playable build includes the Opening Chapter and the Central Town – Adventure Trial, and any save data created in the demo can be carried over into the full release.
The demo is available now on both platforms and lets players sample the opening story, meet initial characters and explore a central hub area before launch. Bandai Namco confirmed that progress, items and unlocks earned in the demo will persist when players upgrade to the full game.
The full game is scheduled to arrive on July 10, 2026. Ahead of that date the publisher posted a how-to-play video that explains demo features and core mechanics.
Promotional material highlights an in-game guide character named Iliad, presented as a tutor for new players. Bandai Namco included the line “Teach us, Terriermon Assistant!” alongside materials introducing Iliad’s role in the demo.
The demo’s two sections serve different purposes: the Opening Chapter introduces the story, characters and basic systems, while the Central Town – Adventure Trial focuses on exploration and activities within the hub. Players who complete the demo will retain earned items and unlocks when the full game launches.
Bandai Namco has released other marketing and guide content ahead of the July 10 release. The company also announced a new puzzle title, Namco Legendary Mountains, which is due for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25, 2026.
Players can download the demo now on their console storefronts and transfer any demo saves to the retail or digital version of Digimon Story Time Stranger after launch.
