Digital Eclipse brings six Toy Story games to Switch Oct. 15

Digital Eclipse will release Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 15. Digital and physical pre-orders open today.

Digital Eclipse announced it will release two Toy Story collections for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 15: Toy Story: Retro Roundup, a compilation of five classic titles, and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, a modern remake of the 2010 tie‑in game. Digital and physical pre-orders opened today.

Retro Roundup packages five games in one release: Toy Story, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Toy Story Racer and the Nintendo 64 version of A Bug’s Life. The release includes archival material such as behind‑the‑scenes footage and developer interviews related to the original games.

The Retro Roundup release adds modern features to improve play on current hardware. Players can rewind gameplay to retry sections, save and load at any time, and use a Rex cheat code to unlock characters, levels and bonus modes including invincibility and unlimited lives. The compilation provides a Practice Mode and guided playthroughs, updated localized how‑to guides, and high‑resolution visuals with an option to revert to the original PlayStation presentation.

Toy Story 3 Complete Edition recreates environments from the film, including Andy’s Room and Sunnyside Daycare. The remake includes a Story Mode that lets players switch characters on the fly, local cooperative play, and a Toy Box Mode set in a Wild West town inspired by Woody’s Roundup where players can take on missions and unlock content. The edition is built with accessibility in mind, featuring simpler controls and light platforming alongside deeper content for returning players. Graphical and performance improvements reach up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on supported platforms.

Both Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition will be available as separate digital purchases. A single physical edition will collect all six titles in one box. Pre-orders for digital and physical formats began today and the official release date for all editions is Oct. 15.

Digital Eclipse has previously released compilation and preservation projects that pair playable ports with documentary material. These October releases coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Toy Story franchise and make several older console titles available on modern systems, including Nintendo Switch.
