Discord adds Xbox Game Pass Starter to Nitro, 50+ games

Discord has added a Starter Edition of Xbox Game Pass to Nitro, giving members access to 50+ PC and console games and 10 hours of Xbox Cloud Gaming per month.

Discord announced the launch of a Starter Edition of Xbox Game Pass for Nitro members, available starting today. The tier gives Nitro subscribers access to more than 50 PC and console games and 10 hours of Xbox Cloud Gaming per month at no additional cost.

The launch library largely aligns with the Xbox Game Pass Essential tier. Included titles at launch include Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, Overcooked 2 and Grounded. A complete list of included games has not been published; Discord noted new games will be added periodically.

The Starter Edition lets Nitro members download and play included games on PC and compatible consoles, or use the monthly cloud gaming allocation to stream titles to more devices. Discord confirmed Nitro subscription pricing remains unchanged after the Game Pass content was added.

The companies outlined benefits for existing Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Players with Game Pass Essential, Premium and Ultimate will receive 250 Discord Orbs each month, a 1.2x Orb bonus for completing Quests and automatic discounts applied in the Discord Shop.

Discord Orbs are a virtual currency within the app. Orbs can be spent on temporary Nitro access and on customization items for user profiles and servers.

In its announcement, Discord wrote, “Nitro members now get access to a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass, including a library of 50+ PC and console games you can download and play anytime you want.”

Users can enable and manage the Starter Edition through Nitro Home in the Discord app.
