D’Onofrio Defends Deborah Ann Woll After Online Harassment

Vincent D’Onofrio defended Deborah Ann Woll after she faced online harassment tied to God of War Laufey preorders, calling her ‘beautiful and extremely talented’ and saying he’ll play the game with his son.

Actor and filmmaker Vincent D’Onofrio publicly defended Deborah Ann Woll after she was targeted online following the opening of preorders for God of War Laufey.

D’Onofrio responded on Twitter after a post criticized Santa Monica Studio, accusing the developer of choosing ‘feminism over their jobs.’ He wrote: ‘Not that you asked, but in no way do I agree with you.’

He described Woll as ‘beautiful and extremely talented’ and added that she is ‘as smart as a whip and a complete nerd. Also incredibly kind. How perfect she is! And a good friend.’ D’Onofrio also wrote that he plans to play God of War Laufey with his son.

Deborah Ann Woll is cast as Laufey in the upcoming game, which is scheduled to launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027.

The game’s reveal drew criticism from some social media users, and reactions increased when preorders became available. Santa Monica Studio has received ongoing complaints from parts of the online community since the game was announced.

It is not yet clear how the online backlash will affect sales or public reaction when the game launches.
