Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations arrives on Xbox July 9

Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations arrives on Xbox July 9 with a new campaign chapter, the Chain Spear, Ripatorium 3.0, new demons and puzzles; included in Premium Edition/Upgrade, not on Game Pass.

Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations will release on Xbox on July 9. The expansion adds a new campaign chapter, a weapon called the Chain Spear, new demon types, new puzzles and an upgraded Ripatorium 3.0. It is included with the Premium Edition and available to owners of the Premium Upgrade. Revelations will not be part of Xbox Game Pass and will be offered for standalone purchase at launch.

The new campaign continues the Slayer’s storyline. The publisher describes the Slayer as wounded and betrayed, trapped in a harsh purgatory where he must confront haunting truths, form an uneasy alliance with a mysterious figure and battle an abomination of the gods to free his followers. The campaign is presented as a chapter with deeper puzzles and additional in-level mysteries.

Gameplay additions focus on new combat and movement options. The Chain Spear is introduced as a melee weapon with extended reach and mobility features, intended to provide new attack patterns that reward player mastery. The expansion also adds multiple new demon types and level designs that require different tactical approaches than existing content.

Ripatorium 3.0 expands the game’s custom map and content tools. It includes three new maps, new demons and fully upgraded variants of new weapons. The update improves pass code generation and adds save-and-load support for personal presets so players can store and reuse preferred loadouts and configurations.

Owners of the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade will receive Revelations as part of those packages. Players without those editions can purchase the expansion separately on July 9. This release delivers the first availability of the specific maps, demons and weapon upgrades included in the package.

The publisher framed Revelations as a continuation of the Dark Ages content that combines new single-player campaign material with map and weapon additions for players who buy the expansion or own the premium packages.
