Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations, developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, launched today on the PlayStation Store for PS5. The expansion is available standalone for $19.99 and requires ownership of Doom: The Dark Ages.
Revelations is a story expansion that adds new levels, new demon types and the Chain Spear weapon to the base game. The update also introduces Ripatorium 3.0, which includes three new maps, additional enemies and fully upgraded new weapons.
The expansion’s trailer contains this description of the single-player story: “Wounded and betrayed, the Slayer is thrust into a merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths and forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally. He must ascend from the prison of his mind and fight an abomination of the gods to set his followers on that path to freedom.”
Players who own the Premium Edition receive Revelations at no additional cost. Players who own only the base game can either purchase the expansion alone for $19.99 or buy a Premium Edition upgrade for $34.99. The expansion requires the base game to run.
