Dracula: The Disciple — PS5 first-person puzzle sim

Cyanide and Nacon announced Dracula: The Disciple for PS5, due in 2027. The first-person puzzle-focused immersive sim puts players in the role of Emile Valombres, a terminally ill archivist who becomes Dracula.

Cyanide and publisher Nacon announced Dracula: The Disciple for PlayStation 5, scheduled for 2027. The game is billed as a first-person puzzle-focused immersive sim in which players control Emile Valombres, a terminally ill archivist who gradually takes on Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

The studio describes the experience as slow-paced and focused on exploration and observation inside Dracula’s castle in Transylvania. Players will examine the Count’s papers, letters and experimental notes to learn occult incantations, alchemical procedures and other arcane methods.

Gameplay centers on investigation and problem solving rather than combat. Nacon’s press release reads: “The castle may be abandoned, but its mysteries endure. Discover the Count’s work, writings and correspondence, revealing knowledge beyond human comprehension, from occult incantations to alchemical transmutations and unholy experiments.” Players combine discoveries with alchemical solutions, fuse elements and perform rituals to treat Valombres’s illness, and the character progressively develops vampiric traits.

The castle environment changes as players progress: new areas and abilities become available after unlocking knowledge and completing rituals. Developers describe the title as a puzzle-driven immersive sim that emphasizes deliberate exploration, environmental clues and cerebral problem solving instead of action or Metroidvania-style gameplay.

The title is currently presented as a PS5 exclusive with no firm release date beyond 2027 and no playable demo. Nacon has published a short trailer that establishes tone and atmosphere but does not show extended gameplay systems, level structure or how the protagonist’s transformation will affect mechanics and narrative.

Cyanide is listed as developer and Nacon as publisher. The companies did not provide details on budget, development milestones, engine or PS5 performance modes, and they gave no timeline for releases on other platforms. Observers have noted Nacon’s financial position, which could affect the project’s schedule; no contingency plans were disclosed.

The companies indicated further information will follow as development continues.
