Dragon’s Dogma II Gets PS5 Pro PSSR Upgrade Oct. 9
Capcom will add PSSR support for Dragon’s Dogma II on PS5 Pro on Oct. 9, alongside Hard Mode, save-data carryover and the Dark Arisen expansion.
Capcom will add official PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) support for Dragon’s Dogma II on PlayStation 5 Pro in title update 4.0 on Oct. 9. The update will launch alongside the Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen expansion.
PSSR is Sony’s machine-learning upscaling technology. It is designed to improve image quality while maintaining game performance on supported hardware.
The update will introduce Hard Mode for experienced players. It will also add a carryover feature that lets players keep their saved data while starting the adventure again from the beginning. Players can use the feature with Hard Mode for a new playthrough without deleting their existing progress.
Pawns, the AI-controlled companions in the game, will receive a new Orienteer specialization. Interacting with a Forgotten Riftstone will award 90 Rift Crystals, up from 30.
Dark Arisen will add a story set in the snowy Norgan region. Players will meet Eir, who is investigating the undying Fallen Dragon, and take on 12 dungeon challenges called Lost Rites. The expansion will also add weapons, skills, hairstyles and tattoos, along with new challenges in the existing game world.
Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen is scheduled to release on Oct. 9. It is available to pre-order through the PlayStation Store for $29.99. Capcom has not released further details about the PS5 Pro performance settings included with the PSSR update.
