Dune: Awakening lands on Xbox Series and Game Pass Sept. 22
Dune: Awakening arrives on Xbox Series X and S and Xbox Game Pass on Sept. 22, 2026, adding a full single-player mode and the final Book One chapter.
Funcom will release Dune: Awakening for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on September 22, 2026. The game will be included on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one. A separate pre-order is available for £39.99 / $49.99, with a 20% discount for Game Pass subscribers.
The September update adds a full single-player mode and delivers the final chapter of Book One, completing the game’s first narrative arc. Players can play solo, host private servers with friends or join larger public multiplayer servers.
The Xbox build offers two graphics modes, Quality and Performance. Performance is the default and targets 60 frames per second. The release collects improvements and content added to the PC version since launch and includes features scheduled for September.
Dune: Awakening is an open-world survival game with adventure and RPG elements set on Arrakis. Players explore desert environments, build outposts, craft equipment and take part in cooperative and competitive multiplayer while following a cinematic narrative drawn from the Dune universe.
In its announcement, Funcom wrote, “Single-player is one of the most-requested features since launch,” and described the console release as “the best version of Dune: Awakening yet.”
Funcom’s official site lists technical notes and screenshots for the updated release. The September 22 launch will be the first time the full single-player story and the final Book One chapter are available to Xbox players at launch through Game Pass.
