Dusk mod brings Twilight Princess to PC with enhanced visuals

Dusk, an unofficial mod of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, is available on PC with higher-resolution visuals, uncapped framerate, gyro aiming, free camera and other quality-of-life features; mobile ports are planned.

Dusk, an unofficial enhanced port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, has launched on PC. The mod’s developers have listed iOS and Android as future targets and say the release combines content from the GameCube, Wii and Wii U editions while preserving console-accurate behavior.

The PC version adds higher-resolution rendering and an uncapped framerate. Players can select between multiple bloom presets or disable bloom, change shadow resolution, set custom color intensity and run the game at higher resolutions. The port supports gyro aiming and a free camera mode similar to the Wii U release, and it includes a mirror mode found on the Wii.

Developers designed the port to retain original console behavior where it matters to players. The release notes state that glitches and speedrun techniques operate as expected. The mod supports custom models and texture packs to replace character models and textures.

Quality-of-life changes speed common actions and reduce repetitive inputs. The release includes faster climbing, the option to hold B to skip text, a fast transform shortcut mapped to R + Y, instant Tears of Light, a Sun’s Song function to change time, and removal of rupee put backs. The port adds an achievement system and gameplay cheats such as moon jump (R + A), a super clawshot, a fast spinner mapped to the R button and fast iron boots.

Platform support and performance options target modern hardware. Steam Deck compatibility is included for handheld PC play. The PC release is available now and the development team lists iOS and Android versions as forthcoming.
