Duskfade PS5 Demo Arrives on PS Store With 4.7 Score

A free demo of Duskfade is available now on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5. The early build holds a 4.7 out of 5 rating based on nearly 200 player reviews.

Weird Beluga Studio developed the clockpunk 3D action-platformer and Fireshine Games is the publisher. The demo follows protagonist Zirian and his mechanical companion, Cuckoo, as they attempt to rescue Zirian’s sister from a Clock Tower that has plunged the land into eternal night. The game draws on mechanics and design elements associated with PS2-era 3D platformers.

The demo lets players test core systems, including grappling, dashing, gliding and melee encounters, to demonstrate how traversal and combat function in early levels. The publisher’s description reads: “Shatter the shackles of time as you jump, swing, and slash through a fantastic world in this love letter to classic 3D action platformers. Zirian, accompanied by his mechanical Cuckoo, must save his sister from a mysterious Clock Tower that has plunged the land into eternal night.” It continues, “Master a seamless blend of dynamic platforming and fast-paced combat. Jump, dash, grapple, and glide your way through thrilling challenges that rekindle the magic of classic action platformer favourites.”

Player reviews on the PlayStation Store highlight movement and combat as factors in the demo’s score. Reviewers evaluated responsiveness, level design and art direction, which reflect the clockpunk aesthetic the developer describes.

The demo is free to download and the game can be added to a wishlist on the PlayStation Store. Weird Beluga Studio and Fireshine Games have not announced a release date or confirmed plans for additional platforms.
