Koei Tecmo released Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered on the PlayStation Store for PS5 today. The remaster is available on PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation Plus Premium members can use cloud streaming on PS5 and the PS Portal where supported.
The package combines the 2001 original Dynasty Warriors 3 and its 2002 Xtreme Legends expansion into a single release. The studio rebuilt the game in Unreal Engine 5, updated the graphics and modernized controls.
New gameplay mechanics include Evasion, which lets players dodge attacks and trigger a ‘Just Evasion’ counterattack, and the Perfect Power Guard, a timed deflect that can stun enemies. Players can choose Normal or Classic control settings to keep a traditional experience or use modernized inputs.
Local two-player cooperative play from the original has been restored. A post-launch update will add online two-player co-op. The roster includes more than 40 officers from the original and adds Ziluan, the protagonist of Dynasty Warriors: Origins. A Weapon Fusion feature lets players craft customized weapons.
Koei Tecmo is selling the remaster in two digital editions. The Standard Edition is priced at $39.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $69.99 and bundles the full game with 42 retro costumes, Six Secret Teachings, 42 weapons for fusion, an officer concept art collection, a Wind Scroll and a Tiger Amulet.
Players can try a free demo on the PlayStation Store for PS5 before purchasing.
