Dynasty Warriors 3 Remaster Shifts to Nintendo Switch 2
Koei Tecmo canceled the original Nintendo Switch release of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered and will release it on Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms on Oct. 1, 2026.
Koei Tecmo announced that DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered will no longer release on the original Nintendo Switch. Development has moved to Nintendo Switch 2, and the remaster will launch day-and-date with other platforms on Oct. 1, 2026. Pre-orders opened ahead of that date include an exclusive in-game item, the Red Hare Saddle–Retro Style.
The publisher confirmed a standard edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition. The Digital Deluxe Edition will be offered either as a separate purchase or bundled with the base game. It includes 42 retro costumes modeled on the original DYNASTY WARRIORS 3, a Wind Scroll that increases attack range by 10, and a Tiger Amulet that raises attack by 10.
Additional Digital Deluxe content comprises Six Secret Teachings, which increase officer Merit gain, and 42 weapons that can be used in play or as fusion materials. The package also contains weapons for every officer and an Officer Concept Art Collection that presents original concept art from DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 with comments from the producer.
Koei Tecmo described the release as a remaster of the third numbered entry in the series, preserving character designs and items that reference the original game. The company did not provide technical specifications or minimum requirements for the Switch 2 version and did not comment on whether canceling the original Switch release will affect versions for other current-generation platforms.
Pre-orders are available now for the confirmed Oct. 1, 2026 launch. Customers who pre-order before the release will receive the Red Hare Saddle–Retro Style item. Buyers can choose between the standard edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition at launch.
