EA Sports F1 25 Adds Native PS5 Pro PSSR in 2026 Pack

F1 25’s 2026 Season Pack adds native PS5 Pro PSSR with ray-traced Quality mode locked at 60 fps and a sharper image on PS5 Pro consoles.

Codemasters has added native PlayStation 5 Pro support for enhanced PSSR (per-sample spatial resampling) in EA Sports F1 25 as part of the 2026 Season Pack. The update delivers improved PSSR and a ray-traced Quality mode running at a locked 60 frames per second on PS5 Pro hardware, producing a noticeably sharper image.

The studio credited Sony with simplifying the upgrade process and enabled a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” badge on the PlayStation Store for F1 25. Codemasters applied the enhanced PSSR to the game’s ray-tracing Quality mode rather than changing its 60 fps target, aiming for higher visual fidelity on PS5 Pro without altering the frame target.

Enhanced PSSR is intended to free up rendering performance and improve image clarity, according to studio technical materials. The PS5 Pro Quality mode includes ray-traced reflections, dynamic diffuse global illumination and ray-traced global illumination. Codemasters described Quality mode on PS5 Pro as the top visual option available on console hardware in the title.

The developer continues to offer a performance mode that targets 120 Hz on compatible displays and an 8K “resolution” mode intended for ultra-high-resolution televisions. These modes remain available across PlayStation 5 builds, with the enhanced PSSR focused specifically on improving the ray-traced Quality presentation on PS5 Pro.

The update highlights Madring, a new high-speed street circuit included in the 2026 Season Pack. Codemasters designed Madring with the updated ray tracing and PSSR features in mind, positioning the track as a showcase for reflections and global illumination effects at higher fidelity.

The 2026 Season Pack adds full 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship content to F1 25, including updated rules, two new manufacturer entries-Audi and Cadillac-refreshed driver line-ups, active aerodynamics and a new Overtake mode. The pack expands Career and My Team modes and allows players to create a fully customizable 12th team on the grid.

For players who do not own F1 25, Codemasters offers the F1 25: 2026 Season Edition, which bundles the base game with all Season Pack content, a revamped My Team mode and the third chapter of the Braking Point story. The F1 25: 2026 Season Pack and the F1 25: 2026 Season Edition launched worldwide on PlayStation 5 on June 3, 2026.

Si Lumb, Codemasters technical producer, explained the team’s reasoning: “The team at Sony made upgrading our title to use enhanced PSSR incredibly simple and including it at launch was an easy decision. The introduction of PSSR gives us more performance headroom and a higher-quality image.”
