Early Splatoon 2 March 2017 Build Leaks on Discord
An early March 2017 build of Splatoon 2 circulated on private Discord servers; music tracks were uploaded to YouTube and at least one in-game image was shared online.
An early March 2017 development build of Splatoon 2 circulated on private Discord servers and some assets reached public video sites. Several audio tracks from the build were posted to YouTube and a screenshot taken from the build has been shared online.
The files appear to come from a development snapshot dated early March 2017, roughly eight weeks before the game’s May 29, 2017 release for Nintendo Switch. The timing places the material in a pre-launch state that could differ from the final product.
Individuals on private Discord channels distributed the materials. The publicly visible items so far include multiple music tracks and a single in-game image. There is no indication the leaked items include playable game code or a full, runnable build.
The audio tracks match the style of Splatoon 2’s soundtrack and the shared image shows in-game elements consistent with an early development version. Because the files predate launch, they may not reflect content or changes implemented before release.
Nintendo has not issued a public statement about the leak. There is no public evidence the company’s release schedule was affected. Monitoring groups report that additional assets could appear if the build continues to circulate on private servers.
Splatoon 2 launched May 29, 2017 on Nintendo Switch. After launch, Nintendo of America supported the title with free post-release content and timed in-game events.
