Elden Ring Switch 2 footage shows improved performance

Bandai Namco posted Switch 2 footage of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and confirmed the port will launch Aug. 28 after optimization work by FromSoftware.

Bandai Namco posted new footage of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition running on Nintendo Switch 2 and confirmed the port will launch on Aug. 28.

FromSoftware delayed the Switch 2 edition to further optimize the build after earlier demonstrations drew criticism for noticeable performance issues on the hardware.

The new clip shows gameplay on Switch 2 hardware and appears to address several of the technical problems noted in prior demonstrations. Bandai Namco indicated the additional development time was used to improve performance and stability and published the video to show how the title will run at launch.

The publisher did not include a technical breakdown, benchmark figures or updated system specifications alongside the footage.

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is a port of FromSoftware’s 2022 action role-playing game that originally released on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. The Switch 2 edition adapts the open-world title for Nintendo’s next-generation handheld and will arrive more than three years after the original release.

The Aug. 28 release date follows a development period focused on optimization for the Switch 2. Bandai Namco has not announced price or preorder details for the port.
