Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition Coming to Switch 2 Aug. 28, 2026

Bandai Namco will release Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026. The package includes the original game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, plus a new playable class and exclusive outfits for the mount Torrent.

Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware announced the date on their official social channels, using the caption: “Your journey to the Erdtree begins here. Rise, Tarnished.” The Switch 2 version is listed as containing the full game, expansion and the platform-exclusive content.

The release was pushed back from an initial 2025 window after the companies said they needed extra time for performance adjustments on the new hardware. The teams cited the need to refine the title’s performance on Switch 2 and moved the launch into 2026 to allow additional development work.

Early hands-on impressions from events last year noted graphical and performance issues on early Switch 2 builds. Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have shown updated builds at later events that attendees reported as improved. The August 28 date establishes the final shipping schedule for the Switch 2 edition.

The announcement did not include technical specifications, performance targets, pricing or pre-order information. Bandai Namco communicated the release date only through its official social posts and did not attach additional developer commentary.

Players will be able to play Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Nintendo’s Switch 2 hardware when it ships August 28, 2026. Until then, the publisher and developer continue to prepare the title for the platform release.
