Embracer launches Fellowship Entertainment to house major IP
Embracer Group will form Fellowship Entertainment, a new publishing label to group franchises including Tomb Raider and The Lord of the Rings and target a 2027 spin-off.
Embracer Group announced plans to create a secondary publishing label called Fellowship Entertainment to house major intellectual properties including Tomb Raider and The Lord of the Rings. The company set a target to spin off the label as a separate entity in calendar year 2027.
Embracer described the label as an “IP-led entertainment company” and the “stewards of The Lord of the Rings, Tomb Raider and many other great intellectual properties.” The label will bring larger franchises together under a single publishing banner.
Fellowship Entertainment will group established development teams and related businesses. Embracer listed 4A Games, Crystal Dynamics, Dambuster Studios, Dark Horse Media, Eidos-Montréal, Fishlabs, Flying Wild Hog Studios, Gunfire Games, Middle-earth Enterprises, Redoctane Games and Warhorse Studios as part of the label. Embracer identified franchises within the label that include Darksiders, Dead Island, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Metro, Remnant, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and Tomb Raider.
Embracer plans to operationally consolidate talent from PLAION and other parts of the group into Fellowship. The label will handle larger, franchise-driven releases while the Embracer-branded side will focus on smaller studios and projects and act as a home for independent teams.
The announcement did not include financial terms, leadership appointments for Fellowship or detailed timelines for individual studio integrations and specific release plans.
Middle-earth Enterprises’ inclusion indicates that Fellowship will oversee non-game licensing and franchise development tied to long-running properties.
Embracer has previously operated through a decentralized structure of multiple labels and teams. The firm positioned Fellowship as a centralized publisher for its most prominent IPs while other parts of the group will continue to support independent teams and entrepreneurial projects under the Embracer name.
