Endless Legend 2 exits early access, hits PS5 today

Endless Legend 2, a PS5 fantasy 4X sequel, leaves early access and reaches version 1.0 as it launches on the PlayStation Store today after a year of player-driven updates.

Endless Legend 2 is available on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5 after a year in early access. The game reaches version 1.0 with today’s release.

Amplitude Studios spent the past year collecting player feedback to patch bugs, adjust systems and implement community suggestions ahead of the full 1.0 build.

The PS5 edition introduces a system called Tidefall. As sea levels drop, new land appears on the map. Areas that were isolated can become connected, which forces players to reassess borders and defensive positions after each Tidefall event.

Tidefall reveals dungeons and resource sites beyond established empires. Those locations can prompt fresh expansion and conflict as players move to secure exposed resources and strategic ground. The design makes late-game expansion a recurring element rather than a fixed phase.

Amplitude Studios CEO Romain de Waubert de Genlis commented: “Now if you come to early access with an unfinished game you’ll get crushed… ‘I paid you 50 euros and you give me an unfinished game?’ The expectations are not the same at all.”

The PlayStation Store release completes the transition from early access to a full launch on PS5. The developer says the year of testing and iteration produced the 1.0 release and the new systems intended to change long campaigns as they progress.
