Epic teases Sonic Racing crossover for Fortnite

Epic Games teased a Sonic-themed crossover for Fortnite during its State of Unreal showcase. A presentation slide listed Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds among new partners and labeled the content ‘coming soon’ for Fortnite and the Epic Games Store. No release date or additional details were shown.

The same slide named other upcoming partners, including Vampire Survivors, Control Resonant and Phantom Blade Zero. The presentation did not include gameplay footage, character reveals or a launch window for those collaborations.

Sega announced a second year of downloadable content and updates for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, with further details due later this year. Epic and Sega have not specified how the racing game and Fortnite will be linked.

The showcase also highlighted Epic’s expanded work with The Simpsons, adding Springfield and its characters and locations to the Unreal Editor for Fortnite. Epic presented that effort as part of broader work to bring third-party worlds into Fortnite using Unreal-based tools.

Epic has not released screenshots or identified which Sonic characters, tracks or cosmetics might appear in Fortnite. The company provided no firm launch window beyond the ‘coming soon’ label used in the presentation.

Sonic is marking its 35th anniversary this month, and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is the franchise’s most recent release. Further announcements from Epic or Sega are expected to provide details on timing, pricing and the nature of any in-game items or events tied to the crossover.
