ESRB gives Oblivion Remastered for Switch 2 an M rating
ESRB rated The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered for Nintendo Switch 2 M for Mature, citing blood and gore, sexual themes and violence; both Deluxe and standard editions were rated.
The ESRB has assigned a Mature (M) rating to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered for Nintendo Switch 2. The classification covers both the Deluxe and standard editions and lists blood and gore, sexual themes and violence as content descriptors.
The rating appeared in an ESRB update. Bethesda announced earlier this year that the remaster would come to Nintendo Switch 2 and confirmed the physical release will be a code-in-box containing a download code rather than a cartridge.
Bethesda has not provided a specific release date for the Switch 2 version. The company has also not confirmed whether the Switch 2 build will include the post-launch fixes that were issued for the Xbox, PlayStation and PC releases.
Oblivion Remastered launched on Xbox, PlayStation and PC in April 2025. That release experienced performance problems at launch and developers released multiple updates intended to improve stability and gameplay.
The public ESRB listing is now available. Retailers and consumers use ESRB ratings and content descriptors to determine appropriate audiences and any sales restrictions.
The ESRB rating makes clear the Switch 2 edition carries Mature content. Buyers looking for a release date or platform-specific performance details must wait for further information from Bethesda.
