Marvelous confirmed Eternal Anima will launch March 4, 2027, on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PS5 edition will retail for $49.99; prices for other platforms have not been announced.
The title was announced in 2023 under the working name Project Life is RPG. The development team includes director Katsuhisa Higuchi, concept writer Keisuke Makino and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima.
The game follows Wade, a resident of the kingdom of Urvis Ael who questions a law that treats hope for a different future as a crime. After he challenges that rule, Wade goes on the run, joins a group of allies and travels through time to prevent disasters in past civilizations and uncover lost history.
Combat is turn-based and tied to the time-travel story. Wade can use Psychometry to read past memories and inherit Abilities and Classes for combat. A mechanic called Future Sight lets players predict when enemies will act and the likely outcome of each turn, allowing tactical choices that can alter battles.
Players will travel across several continents with distinct cultures and environments. Visuals combine retro-inspired elements with modern design choices. The development team includes staff with experience on narrative-driven role-playing games.
