Even G2 Smart Glasses to Appear in 007 First Light
Even Realities’ Even G2 smart glasses will appear in IO Interactive’s 007 First Light as a post-launch in-game gadget, marking the first real-world wearable in a playable Bond game.
Even Realities and IO Interactive confirmed a strategic partnership to add the Even G2 smart glasses to 007 First Light as a post-launch in-game gadget. The addition will mark the first use of a real-world wearable in a playable James Bond title.
IO Interactive confirmed the feature will arrive after the game’s initial launch, but the studio has not disclosed how the glasses will operate in gameplay. 007 First Light is scheduled to release on other platforms on May 27; a Switch 2 version is planned later this summer. IO Interactive’s CEO recently reiterated that the studio has no plans to cancel the Switch 2 release and is allowing extra time to complete the port to its quality standard.
The physical Even G2 glasses provide on-screen prompts and contextual information about the environment. IO Interactive and Even Realities have not said whether the in-game item will replicate those functions, change HUD elements, grant new abilities, or integrate with mission systems.
Will Wang, CEO of Even Realities, described the partnership: “We build technology that doesn’t shout for attention – but amplifies human potential. Partnering with IO Interactive to bring the Even G2 into a James Bond game makes perfect sense: both worlds value intelligence, discretion, and design that performs when it matters most. In a way, this collaboration is about doubling the intelligence: the glasses’ invisible power working alongside Bond’s legendary instincts, to achieve anything possible.”
Developers have not released screenshots or gameplay showing the in-game glasses. Further details on the update’s timing and the glasses’ in-game mechanics are expected from IO Interactive and Even Realities ahead of the Switch 2 launch.
