Exodus sci-fi RPG launches April 7, 2027 on PS5 and PC

Archetype Entertainment’s sci-fi RPG Exodus will release worldwide on April 7, 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Archetype Entertainment will release Exodus worldwide on April 7, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store. The studio revealed the date and a new cinematic trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

The trailer centers on protagonist Jun Aslan, a salvager turned Traveler, and introduces Salt, an Awakened octopus mercenary who joins Jun. Salt pilots a specialized combat mech suit that enables long-range sniping, rapid evasive maneuvers and ink-like smokescreens that disrupt enemies.

Another companion shown, Emrys, is identified as a member of the Deva, a celestial species described as having multiple consciousnesses. Emrys launches Remnant Orbs that weaken foes and redirect stolen energy back to Jun as a form of protection.

Footage displays mixed ranged and close-quarters combat and the tactical use of companion abilities. The trailer suggests a party system in which characters from different species combine complementary skills for combat and exploration.

Archetype reported that Exodus has surpassed 500,000 wishlists. Reaching that milestone unlocked a Celestial Star Map Decoration for players’ in-game apartments. The developer said additional wishlist goals will unlock in-game cosmetics, a Salt companion story cinematic and extra music tracks.

The studio provided an official description of the partnership between Jun and Salt: “Watch Jun Aslan, salvager turned Traveler, join forces with Salt, an Awakened octopus companion who’s as deadly as she is intelligent. A mercenary and bounty hunter, she hasn’t needed anyone… until now. Her will to survive matches Jun’s own, and together, they’ll have to fight to save the one thing worth going back to: home.”

Exodus is described as a science-fiction role-playing game. The Gamescom trailer offered the first full look at the game’s companions and combat systems ahead of the April 2027 launch.
