F1 25 PS5 Pro Update Adds Native PSSR2 on June 3
Codemasters’ F1 25 2026 Season Update, due June 3, adds native PSSR2 on PS5 Pro to improve image clarity across Quality, Performance and Resolution modes.
Codemasters will add native PSSR2 support to F1 25 on PlayStation 5 Pro as part of the 2026 Season Update, which launches June 3.
PSSR2 is an AI-based upscaling solution introduced by Sony in March. On PS5 Pro it refines the output from the game’s internal render resolution to produce a cleaner final image.
The upscaler will operate across F1 25’s three graphics modes. Quality targets 60 frames per second with ray tracing enabled. Performance targets 120Hz on compatible displays. Resolution aims for an 8K output on suitable hardware.
Codemasters’ technical team expects PSSR2 to reduce blurring and improve detail reconstruction so images appear sharper across the presets. Performance and Resolution modes should benefit most from improved internal upscaling and sharpening.
Technical Producer Si Lumb wrote, “Players should notice a sharper image when booting F1 25 at the launch of the 2026 Season Pack.”
The 2026 Season Update is a downloadable content pack that replaces the usual annual release and includes roster updates, rule changes and the Madring circuit.
Players using PS5 Pro hardware with compatible monitors, including newer 27-inch displays, are the primary beneficiaries of native PSSR2 support.
After installing the update on June 3, players should see the visual changes when they launch F1 25.
