Falcom posts 1,227% H1 operating profit on overseas sales
Nippon Falcom reported a 1,227% year-on-year operating profit rise in the first half, driven by overseas sales of the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake.
Nippon Falcom reported a 1,227% year-on-year increase in operating profit for the first half of its fiscal year. Revenue rose 153.9% and overall sales increased 194% compared with the same period a year earlier.
Falcom’s half-year financial report attributes the gains primarily to international demand for its titles, with the remake of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter identified as a major contributor.
The report covers the company’s performance in the first half of the fiscal year and notes stronger profitability and top-line growth compared with the prior comparable period. Management attributed the increases mainly to overseas game sales.
The company confirmed release plans for the rest of the year. Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is scheduled for September, and Kyoto Xanadu is planned for autumn. The half-year filing did not include new sales targets tied to the remake’s performance.
Nippon Falcom is a Tokyo-based developer known for the long-running Trails role-playing series. The Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake has been marketed internationally across multiple platforms and increased the company’s overseas revenue share during the reported period.
