Fallout 76 PS5 Port Free for PS Plus Extra and Premium

Fallout 76’s native PS5 port is now in the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog. PS4 owners and Extra/Premium subscribers can upgrade for free; others pay $39.99 and Essential claimants are excluded.

Sony has added a native PS5 version of Fallout 76 to the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog. The upgrade is available now for owners of the PS4 release and for subscribers to PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium at no additional cost.

Players who received Fallout 76 through the PS Plus Essential monthly lineup are not eligible for the free PS5 upgrade. Anyone who does not already own the game or subscribe to Extra or Premium can buy the PS5 version on the PlayStation Store for $39.99.

The PS5 build targets 60 frames per second on PS5 and PS5 Pro, and the same target frame rate applies to Xbox Series X and Series S. The upgrade includes longer draw distances and improved shadow detail. On compatible displays the game can run at 4K resolution on Xbox Series X, Xbox One X and PS5 Pro. PS5 and PS4 Pro will run at up to 1440p, while older consoles continue to use 1080p. Variable Refresh Rate support is available on PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Series S when used with compatible screens.

Players who own the PS4 disc must insert the disc into the PS5’s disc drive to download and play the native PS5 port. The digital upgrade is available through the PS Plus catalog for Extra and Premium subscribers and to existing digital owners without extra charge.

Fallout 76 was released by Bethesda in 2018 for PlayStation 4 as an online role-playing game. The title has received multiple content updates and patches since launch; the new PS5 build is the most recent release intended for current-generation hardware.
