Fan Monitors Oxygen and Cars Outside Rockstar North

A Reddit user known as Then-Pomegranate-625 spent several days outside Rockstar North’s Edinburgh studio recording oxygen levels, logging vehicle arrivals, photographing footwear, counting cigarette butts and placing an acoustic sensor. The poster described the activity as an attempt to infer when the studio might release another GTA 6 trailer by identifying signs of senior staff presence and increased on-site activity.

The user said the observation period lasted roughly a week. The acoustic equipment was placed near a meeting room to measure internal sound levels; when the poster returned the device was missing. Vehicle arrivals were logged with arrival times, estimated total values and notes on particularly expensive models as a proxy for executive presence.

An oxygen sensor positioned outside the building recorded several drops to around 20 percent after 5 p.m. The poster interpreted those drops as higher oxygen consumption, which they associated with more people working on site. The post included a written hypothesis that the aim was to measure “how many executives may be spending time at the HQ as opposed to regular employees.”

During a 19-hour observation window the user counted 71 cigarette butts and recorded 11 cars present. The poster estimated roughly two out of every 10 people were smokers and photographed shoes of people entering the building, noting designer or expensive brands as another indicator of senior staff.

The methods combined manual tallies and low-cost electronic sensors. Vehicle counts and cigarette tallies were recorded by hand. The acoustic and oxygen monitoring used electronic devices; the removal of the acoustic device interrupted that stream of data. The poster did not provide evidence linking the recorded signals directly to any marketing decisions by the studio.

Rockstar North has not announced a date for another GTA 6 trailer. The Reddit post attracted attention for its range of observations and sensor use and was shared within online communities that follow studio activity and promotional timing.
