Final Fantasy Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles v1.5 Adds New Game+
Square Enix updated Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles to version 1.5.0, adding New Game+, a Zodiac Compatibility display, new gameplay settings and text support for Chinese and Korean.
Square Enix has released version 1.5.0 for Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles enhanced edition. The in-game version number now appears as 1.5.0 on the version selection and title screens.
The update adds New Game+, which allows players to begin a new playthrough while carrying over unit levels, item data and other progress from a completed save.
A Zodiac Compatibility display has been added to unit status screens. The display shows each character’s zodiac sign and how that sign affects compatibility with other units.
Interface and battle changes include the ability to view a unit’s status under the selection cursor when choosing a movement tile or targeting an ability. The Equipment & Abilities section now includes a “Remove All Equipment” option. Job unlock conditions for locked jobs are displayed more clearly in the Job section of unit status screens. During battles, camera angle and zoom settings are retained for the duration of the encounter instead of resetting.
New gameplay settings were added under Options > Settings > Gameplay. “Maintain Auto-proceed” keeps cutscenes progressing automatically when enabled. “Ability Incantations Guaranteed” ensures the spoken dialogue tied to certain abilities always plays. “Ability Cursor Memory” preserves the cursor position within the Abilities menu between uses.
The enhanced edition now supports text in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Korean. To change the enhanced-version text language, go to General Settings > Language and select “Text Language (Enhanced)”.
The patch also includes minor text edits across all languages, adjustments to certain sound effects, stability improvements and miscellaneous bug fixes. Square Enix published the update through the game’s official update notice.
