Final Fantasy VII: Revelation announced, Xbox day-one

Square Enix announced Final Fantasy VII: Revelation and confirmed an Xbox edition will be available at launch. The company did not provide a release date or a full list of platforms in its initial announcement.

The developer presented Revelation as a new entry tied to the long-running Final Fantasy VII saga. Square Enix did not explain how Revelation fits into the timeline of the remake project or whether it continues the narrative from previous releases.

The announcement confirms Xbox owners will receive the game on day one. The first major remake, Final Fantasy VII Remake, launched as a timed PlayStation exclusive in 2020 before later reaching other platforms. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth arrived in 2024.

Square Enix has not disclosed which Xbox consoles will be supported or whether a PC version will be available at launch. The company also provided no details on editions, pricing, preorders, platform-specific optimizations, cross-save, cross-play or subscription availability.
