Square Enix will release the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23. Pre-orders are available now on the Nintendo eShop for £44.99 and €49.99. The Switch 2 edition includes remade visuals, a remastered score and a high-speed mode.
Square Enix confirmed the release carries over the HD features from the earlier Switch version, including updated graphics and reworked audio, and adds performance improvements designed for the new hardware.
Both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 are packaged together for the Switch 2 release, allowing players to access both titles in one purchase. The high-speed mode is intended to reduce travel and grinding times.
Players who pursue main storylines and side content can expect combined playtime that may exceed 100 hours. The company expects sharper visuals and smoother frame rates on Switch 2 compared with the prior Switch release.
A 2019 review described the remaster as ‘Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster successfully does justice to these two RPG classics as it brings them to a new age of players.’ The remasters first released on Nintendo Switch in 2019.
Pre-orders are live now on the eShop at the listed prices and the digital release will be available to download on July 23.
