Final Fantasy XVI Drops to $19.99 in PS Store Sale

Final Fantasy XVI is available at a 60% discount on the PlayStation Store through Sept. 10, lowering the PS5-only release to $19.99. The sale is part of PlayStation’s Gamescom 2026 promotion and represents the lowest price recorded for the title on the PS Store since its 2023 launch.

Square Enix published Final Fantasy XVI for the PS5 in 2023. The title is currently listed in the PS Plus Extra catalog for an unspecified period, and PS Plus Premium subscribers can stream the game via cloud play while it remains in that catalog.

The sale applies to the base PS5 version of Final Fantasy XVI and to the game’s downloadable content, but the Complete Edition is not discounted in this promotion. The Expansion Pass, which grants access to all announced DLC, is priced at $9.99 under the discount. Individual expansion packs are marked down to $7.99 for The Rising Tide and $3.99 for Echoes of the Fallen.

Final Fantasy XVI is set in a dark-fantasy world shaped by powerful beings called Eikons and their human controllers, known as Dominants. The narrative centers on Clive Rosfield, the First Shield of Rosaria, who vows to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix, and later pursues vengeance after a tragedy tied to the Dark Eikon Ifrit.

The discounted prices are available on the PlayStation Store for digital purchasers on PS5 until the sale ends on Sept. 10. Players who already subscribe to PS Plus Extra can access the game through that catalog for the period it remains included, while PS Plus Premium members have the option to stream the title in supported regions.

Buyers should note the Complete Edition remains at its regular price during the promotion and that the duration of the game’s inclusion in PS Plus Extra has not been specified by Square Enix or PlayStation.
