Fire Emblem-inspired PS5 tactical RPG set for 2027

Peacebreak Studio developed Beaten Path, a turn-based tactical RPG funded on Kickstarter, with Wales Interactive attached as publisher. The studio and publisher set a 2027 release window for PlayStation 5 and said the game will also launch on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2027. The PlayStation Store listing is live for wishlists; preorders are not yet open. Price and a firm release date have not been disclosed.

The studio describes Beaten Path as set in a world ruled by fallen gods and ancient machines. Players take command of a character named Panna and her companions as they investigate a looping fate, recover lost memories and confront mythic powers. The project emphasizes a narrative focus alongside tactical combat.

Combat uses grid-based, turn-based encounters. Peacebreak Studio notes battles require positioning, unit synergy and decisive abilities. Players can flank enemies, use terrain advantages and execute powerful commands. The developer cites influences from earlier tactical series and highlights deep character customization and a fully voiced cast.

Official storefront material lists core features including tactical turn-based combat, a wide game world, customization options and a time-loop mystery. A new trailer released by the developer shows cinematic scenes and tactical skirmishes; the studio cautions that footage may not reflect the final in-game presentation.

Beaten Path was funded on Kickstarter and remains in development. Wales Interactive and Peacebreak Studio have provided no further details on price, exact launch date or platform-exclusive content. Additional information on preorders and editions is expected closer to the 2027 window.
