Fort Stewart Offers 4 Days Off for GTA 6 to Reenlistees

Fort Stewart’s 3rd Infantry Division is offering some active-duty soldiers a four-day pass timed to Grand Theft Auto VI’s Nov. 19, 2026 release if they sign a reenlistment contract for two to six years between Aug. 1 and Nov. 14, 2026.

The incentive is available to service members who reenlist for the specified term during that window. The division estimates about 130 soldiers are eligible for the package and reports that 20 have already reenlisted and earned the four-day pass.

The program was developed at Fort Stewart by the division’s command team and career counselors as a targeted reenlistment incentive. Lt. Col. Angel Tomko described the plan as “a unique incentives program that connects to what soldiers are interested in” and added the command team, working with the career counselor, wanted to encourage reenlistment.

The leave applies only to those who meet the reenlistment criteria and does not extend to personnel who do not reenlist. The time off is scheduled around the game’s fixed launch date of Nov. 19, 2026.

Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed several times during development. It was once slated for fall 2025, then moved to May 26, 2026, and is now set for Nov. 19, 2026.

The Army has used gaming as part of outreach and recruiting efforts in recent years. Recruiters began attending gaming conventions in 2018, and the service created the U.S. Army Esports Team, which competes in titles including Fortnite, Apex Legends, Valorant, Overwatch and Call of Duty. Those activities aim to connect with potential recruits and current service members through gaming and online communities.
