Forza Horizon 6 hotfix patches credit exploits, grants McLaren
Playground Games’ June 18 hotfix for Forza Horizon 6 patches two credit exploits on Xbox and PC, caps exploited Eliminator accounts at 10 million, restores the mode and grants a McLaren Sabre.
Playground Games released a hotfix for Forza Horizon 6 on June 18 for Xbox and PC to address two credit exploits and to restore a temporarily disabled game mode.
The studio identified a glitch in The Eliminator that allowed some players to earn far more credits than intended from a single match. Affected accounts have been adjusted to a 10 million credit cap. The Eliminator was temporarily disabled while the issue was fixed and then returned to Horizon Play. The patch notes read: “Fixed an issue where players could earn an unintended amount of Credits through an exploit used in The Eliminator. This hotfix also restores access to The Eliminator in Horizon Play, with all players receiving a 2021 McLaren Sabre as a gesture of good will for the inconvenience of disabling this feature.”
Playground also altered rewards to prevent farming via Auto Drive, an accessibility feature that drives the car automatically. The studio reduced rewards in some modes after finding players used Auto Drive to gain large sums of credits without actively playing. The patch notes added: “Related to the Credits Exploit we have rebalanced the Rewards available in some game modes to prevent these from being exploited using Auto Drive. Auto Drive is meant to be used as an accessibility feature, or for when your hands need a break from driving. It is not intended to be used as a way to earn credits without actively playing the game.”
As a goodwill gesture for the time The Eliminator was offline, every player will receive a 2021 McLaren Sabre. The studio applied the hotfix to Xbox consoles and PC versions.
Playground Games noted it is still investigating separate issues with lost save files on Xbox and PC. An Xbox system update aimed at addressing save problems was rolled out recently, but reports indicate some players continue to experience save-related errors.
Players with questions or who experience problems can consult the official patch notes or monitor further updates from the developer.
