Forza Horizon 6: Series X 4K, Series S 1080p at 60fps

Forza Horizon 6 runs native 4K/30fps (Quality) and dynamic 4K/60fps (Performance) on Xbox Series X; Series S targets 1440p/30fps (Quality) and 1080p/60fps (Performance).

Forza Horizon 6 runs in two primary modes on Xbox Series X and Series S. Quality mode prioritizes higher resolution and visual detail and caps the game at 30 frames per second. Performance mode targets a steady 60 frames per second and uses dynamic resolution scaling to maintain that frame rate.

On Xbox Series X, Quality mode renders at native 4K and 30 fps. Performance mode targets 4K with dynamic resolution scaling to hold 60 fps during demanding scenes.

On Xbox Series S, Quality mode targets 1440p with dynamic scaling at 30 fps. Performance mode runs at 1080p with dynamic scaling locked to 60 fps; the lower internal resolution reduces fine detail and distant draw compared with Series X.

Side-by-side video captures and technical analysis of the Xbox builds show a trade-off between image detail and frame rate. Quality mode on Series X produces the sharpest image and the most distant detail. Performance mode on Series X maintains a steady 60 fps through dynamic scaling while retaining substantial visual quality. On Series S, Quality mode delivers higher internal resolution than Performance mode, while Performance mode maintains a consistent 60 fps but renders softer at range.

Technical testing found that both consoles use dynamic resolution scaling in Performance mode to adjust pixel count on the fly and prevent frame-rate drops during demanding scenes. Quality mode fixes a higher target resolution and limits the frame rate to 30 fps to allow for higher texture fidelity and longer draw distances. Tests reported no recorded frame-rate dips while Performance mode held 60 fps.

Early access to Forza Horizon 6 begins May 15 for players who purchased the Premium Edition or the Premium Upgrade Bundle. Details on the wider launch schedule and platform availability remain part of the publisher’s release communications.
