Forza Horizon 6 sold 4.9M copies before opening weekend

Alinea Analytics reported Forza Horizon 6 sold 4.9 million copies across Xbox and Steam by May 22. That figure covers the game’s four-day early access window and roughly three days of the standard release, and it precedes the title’s full opening weekend.

Alinea’s data shows many early access purchases were made at a higher-priced tier, including a $120 premium edition. The firm estimates the full-game revenue split between platforms was roughly even, with 51% of sales on Xbox and 49% on Steam.

More than 3 million players accessed Forza Horizon 6 through Xbox Game Pass during the early period. Playground Games announced a total of 6 million players on May 21. Neither the developer nor the publisher has published an official consolidated sales revenue figure for the opening period.

Steam recorded a new peak concurrent player count for the series, registering more than 300,000 PC players at once over the weekend. The reported totals cover initial commercial activity and do not reflect later sales or player counts from the full opening weekend and subsequent weeks.

Alinea Analytics is a third-party data provider and its numbers are estimates rather than official company releases. Early access pricing and the presence of Game Pass access affect how sales and player-reach are reflected in paid-unit revenue and total player counts.
