Free Play Days: Catan and Deadside free for Game Pass users

Xbox Game Pass members can play Catan — Console Edition and Deadside for free during Free Play Days from Thursday, May 7 through Sunday, May 10. Access is available to Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Members can start on a PC or mobile browser by opening each game’s detail page on Xbox.com and following the link to the Microsoft Store; you must be signed in to see the option to install using your Game Pass membership. On console, open the Xbox Store, select the Subscriptions tab and navigate to the Free Play Days collection to download the titles.

Catan — Console Edition is optimized for Xbox Series X|S and supports Smart Delivery. The digital edition offers local multiplayer and AI opponents for traditional resource collection, settlement building and victory-point competition. The Microsoft Store lists the game at $16.99 outside the free period. Any progress, achievements and Gamerscore earned during Free Play Days will carry over if players buy the title.

Deadside is optimized for Xbox Series X|S with Smart Delivery. The open-world survival shooter includes player-versus-player combat, cooperative player-versus-environment modes, scavenging, base-building and map exploration. The recent 1.8 update introduced an overhauled crafting system, new weapons such as the R-12 Revolver and additional locations. The base game is listed at $24.99 and is discounted to $12.49 during the promotional window; the publisher is offering the base game and all DLC at 50% off for a limited time.

Gamerscore and achievements earned during Free Play Days remain attached to a player’s account and will persist if the game is purchased. Discounts, exact prices and title availability may vary by region. Free Play Days require an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential membership.
