Free PS5 Weekend: Marvel Tokon beta runs through July 26

The global open beta for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is free through Sunday, July 26 on PS5; PC players can join but must sign in with a PlayStation account.

The global open beta for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launched worldwide and runs through Sunday, July 26. Developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the title is a PlayStation 5 console exclusive. The beta is available on PS5 and on PC; PC players must sign in with a PlayStation account to access the build.

The trial includes 16 playable characters, including Green Goblin. Players can access part of the Amazing Guardians Episode, which shows encounters with characters identified as Promoter and Champion and depicts why Spider-Man assembled his team.

Arc System Works described the narrative segment as: ‘The story is presented through immersive motion comics featuring artwork from a renowned comic artist, bringing the Marvel Universe to life in a unique and engaging format.’ After the motion-comic excerpt, the beta moves into combat sections where players test systems and controls.

The beta features Startup Battle, Training Mode and Episode Mode. Startup Battle introduces basic combat flow. Training Mode allows players to practice moves and combos. Episode Mode unlocks story-linked encounters after completing the introductory battles.

Sony and the developer noted the beta will serve to evaluate character balance, animation and the combination of motion-comic storytelling with action gameplay. The period will also exercise servers and matchmaking ahead of the full release window scheduled for August 2026.

PS5 players can access the beta from their console. PC players must create or link a PlayStation account to join the trial.
