Gaming site nailed 3 of 8 Xbox Showcase predictions

A gaming site published a prediction list ahead of the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 and later reviewed its accuracy, reporting three correct forecasts out of eight.

The site accurately forecast that Gears of War: E-Day would open the showcase and that the game would carry an Oct. 6, 2026 release date as an Xbox console exclusive. Microsoft confirmed the game’s role in the presentation and the release date during the event.

The site also predicted a summer release for Halo: Campaign Evolved. Microsoft set the launch for July 28, 2026 and announced a Premium Edition that grants early access prior to the official release.

The third correct call concerned hardware. Microsoft revealed a limited-edition Xbox Series X25 console and themed controllers. Xbox executive Asha Sharma announced that attendees at Xbox FanFest LA will receive a free console.

Five predictions on the list did not appear at the showcase. The outlet had expected Microsoft to unveil an Elite Series 3 controller, add new backward-compatible titles with a possible surprise drop, revive an original Xbox intellectual property under Sharma’s direction, bring Banjo-Kazooie back to the stage, and introduce a major new Xbox initiative. None of those items were announced during the showcase.

The site invited readers to compare their own forecasts and to comment on which predictions they had matched. The outlet added that some announcements might be reserved for later in 2026.
